Argh – we want creativity in our lives, but creativity can so easily get pushed to the fringes of busy lives. Even if we put time aside, a sort of paralysis can strike – What to focus on? What’s my concept? Where’s the muse? Too often we are left with a bundle of half completed projects and a mountain of insecurity – Is this good enough?
So we’ve decided to take the pressure off. Give ourselves a year of exploring with low expectations of the results, share and support each other and chuckle over the results and throw in some much needed deadlines to squash that inner-critic paralysis and procrastination.
For our 12-step program we’re going to undertake a different (simple) creative challenge each month. We’ve devised the first three months and we’ll wait for suggestions (or the muse) to choose the last nine.
Here’s our plan
July: Write a poem or story
August: Take a photo a day, starting at 8am, and then 30 minutes later each day for the month.
September: Working with wool
October: Black and white photography
November: Interview a creative person and create a project inspired by the interview.
We’d love you to join us and share your work
